He lives just outside Wigan - presumably to be relatively near to the Velodrome in Manchester, the home base for british cycling - & he rides (very occasionally) with the Wigan Wheelers Cycling club, so it's no surprise that he supports Wigan.
Doesn't alter my view of him one iota.
